INTERNATIONAL BAGPIPE ORGANISATION
Cassandre Balosso-Bardin is the founder of the International Bagpipe Organisation (IBO) and main organiser of the International Bagpipe Conferences (IBC). So far, she has organised three successful academic conferences, creating a unique platform for bagpipe academia. The conferences are held biennally in different locations. 2012 - 1st International Bagpipe Conference - London (hosted by the IMR and SOAS) 2014 - 2nd International Bagpipe Conference - London (hosted by the IMR and SOAS) 2016 - 3rd International Bagpipe Conference - Glasgow (co-organised and hosted by the National Piping Centre) 2018 - 4th International Bagpipe Conference - Mallorca (co-organised with Cándid Trujillo and Toni Torrens, hosted at the Arxiu Real de Mallorca) 2020 - 5th International Bagpipe Conference - Harvard/Online 2022 - 6th International Bagpipe Conference - Newcastle University (co-organised with Northumbrian Piper's Society, hosted by Newcastle University) 2024 - 7th International Bagpipe Conference - Plovdiv, Bulgaria (co-organised with the Bulgarian National Bagpipe Association, hosted by the Academy of Music, Dance, and Fine Art) The scope of the organisation is currently being developped by supporting talks in various festivals around the world.
